One of the major things God is doing now is that He is mobilizing all of His people to take all of the gospel to all the world. This is His great priority at this time. To accomplish this, God is bringing forth truth to challenge some long-held assumptions, to redefine terms like “ministry”, “minister”, “full-time”, “anointing” and so forth. He is changing unbiblical paradigms and perspectives that have sidelined the vast majority of His people who see themselves as “lay” people, with their lives partitioned into “spiritual” and “secular” compartments. One wonders why “the clergy” should be so surprised that “lay persons” are so laid back?

In this end-time move of God, the new ministers and missionaries will not be in the mold (or garb!) of the traditional, but they will be just as called – and anointed! This is not to say that evangelism and missions (as they have been known heretofore) will become irrelevant; instead, they will be enlarged to embrace the new generation of missionaries who will reach the world from their platforms in the marketplace, and bring the kingdom of God to cities and nations.
Also, the new mission fields may not seem like mission fields to the undiscerning, but the spiritual warfare raging in them will be no less real. These new mission fields will not be the jungles of Africa or Asia, but the steel and concrete jungles of megacities in the dark places of the earth where increasing urbanization is moving the vast majority of humans. The new missionaries will engage this new mission fields in the workplace, in the power of the Holy Spirit and with His compassion, using their shining lives as well as the latest technologies to communicate the unchanging, life-changing message of the gospel. They will fulfill the ministry of salt and light.
